An Invitation
As many of you read through the entries for the SkepticBlog from all of these talented minds, you probably see many references to The Skeptologists.
I’ll assume for a moment that many of you already know what The Skeptologists is all about. Since the start of the blog, many new readers are undoubtedly trying to figure it out. Today, rather than writing a long blog here, I’m going to invite you to take a look at the newly refreshed Skeptologists Website.
This past weekend, I spent a few hours giving our Official Show Site an overhaul, adding details about the theme of the show and giving some never released details about how the program will be presented.
You don’t get it for free however, It will cost you a minute or two. Once you’ve read through the website, please take a quick moment to make a comment on the “Your Turn” page so that those who come through afterwards (including TV execs and agents that we send there) will understand just how much support we have for a skeptically-minded TV program.
I hope you enjoy the site, and look forward to your comments.
If you see any typo’s or encounter technical problems, please feel free to email me directly.
Enjoy!
Wow. This being my birthdate, (Taurus the Bull, etc…) I can’t think of a better gift than seeing this new up-grade. Really nice job Ryan!
Hi Ryan
First thanks for providing lots of information with your revisions.
Some comments:
1) The (title) TV SERIES(/title) is not terribly informative.
This affects the name in my browser tab and for any bookmark, and perhaps in search results.
2) Personally, I don’t like the narrow width that is used for the page.
3) For the visually challenged some of the text/background choices do not help.
Awesome new site! JS-Kit seems like something I may just look in to.
@Mark; Taurus, Ha ha Me too!
@Peter, Thanks for those comments and suggestions. The width is there to allow people with lower rez monitors not to have to scroll left and right. I’ll look into the contrast for the text.
@Brian, Just FYI, JS-Kit was just the comment box code. I did the rest with iWeb, and tweaked it a bunch.
Thanks guys!

Umm…you realize, of course, that if you don’t force the width it’ll adjust to the width of browser, right?! Then it’ll work fine for everyone….
“Typo’s” is a typo.
Nice redesign of the site, Ryan! I’ve added my two cents worth.
Get over there and comment! We need to show a united front to get this project on the air. Even you crazy believers. Tell them you hate the idea so much that you will watch it every week as a sado-masochistic exercise.
I like the site overall. The layout is pretty eye-catching, but more pictures spread around would be good. One technical item; I’m using an outdated browser (IE5; no choice in the matter) on a work computer. Some of the inner pages, such as the cast page, truncate vertically. I’ve got Google ads in Shermer’s bio, and nothing but Dunning’s name and picture. The “Your turn” page also cuts off.
I wrote an e-mail showing my support a while ago. I’ll definitely write a comment and mass e-mail this site to everyone I can! Awesome site!
