Apparently, when a product is called homeopathic, it can be sold like an over-the-counter drug without an FDA disclaimer, but the FDA doesn't review it for safety and effectiveness like a drug. I suspect that this is the case with Zicam and Cold-Eeze.

You should (b/c you have lots of disposable time and money!) create a "speakers bureau" and develop talks so that local skeptic, atheist, humanist, etc. groups, as well as libraries and universities, can get you to give talks. I'm sure you can get volunteer help with, say, "converting" an outline into PowerPower slides.

Definitely, an important area to have gains made in straightening out this mess.

"Alternative", yes, if one considers debilitation and agonising decline into death the preferred opposite of "quality of life".

Pffft, "medicine" ... only if you consider Benny Hin to be a doctor as well.

Almost ashamed to admit it, by my uncle, who has been in medicine for over forty years, just recently went to an alternative treatment "seminar". No, it wasn't about proton therapy or anything else cutting edge, but about sham medicine practices masquerading as scientific medicine. Haven't had the chance to talk to him about it, almost afraid to hear what he has to say.

Isn't there a "silver bullet" for this type of stupidity? What a waste of time, effort and money to allow this garbage to continue.

Kim - Right now we have board members and fellows. We are definitely interested in also having members, and are working on the logistics of that. I will announce when we are ready to accept members, and of course this will be reflected in the website.
