I’m such a card

by Phil Plait, Aug 26 2009

And now my plan is complete. I have been made into a trading card.

The ever-traffic-begging Crispian Jago has created a set of Simspons-style gaming cards based on the most beloved and good-looking of skeptics, and then made an exception in my case.

These cards are really, really funny, and you need to go look at them. He’s got Randi, Penn & Teller, My Close Personal Friend Adam Savage™, and many more, including a few of my compatriots right here on Skepticblog. These cards are the definition of Made of Win.

Of course, there are some problems with them… I’m a skeptic after all. He included bad words on the card, forcing me to do some COPS-style blurring, and my weapon of choice is the whole Universe, baby. I wield a +∞ ultimate doom there, baby.

But it does really look like me. Though I figured I’d look more like Philip J. Fry. Oh well.

  1. I LOVE it. This is pure Win really. Any chance that these will get printed on card stock and distributed to your adoring fans?

I also enjoyed the skeptics tarot cards. Good laugh!

Unfortunately, the ambiguity of our language almost makes it sound like your key outputs are an astronomy book and blog that are of bad quality. It took me a second to realize what it really meant.

They are all brilliant! But I just can’t get over the need to fuzz out those words!

“Bad words”? Surely as a scientist you realise that we decide whats good or bad and that words themselves aren’t automatically bad. In this case the “bad” word is a verb meaning “to tamper with” I guess all skeptics have their sacred cows
